IMO it really doesn't matter which grip you use (I myself use trad) but at the risk of stating the obvious, it's whatever feels comfortable and works best for the player. I found it interesting when some of you lot listed who you thought had the fastest singles and then tried to come up with a rule, as if match meant fast singles ie Novak, & Chambers and trad meant fastest doubles. I would definitely disagree. What about Vinnie or Jim Chapin or Art Verdi?
Anyway, what difference does it make? There are no rules what ever works best for that individual is the right grip to use and at the end of the day it's the MUSIC that should be the winner, not the hands!
